Independent candidate in the Karonga central by-election race Florence Nthakomwa has been described as the only candidate who has the welfare for the constituents.
The constituents expressed this in random interviews with this publication.
According to them, Nthakomwa has been using her personal money to help the constituents in different means.
They also said that she is a woman who like peace and has shown political maturity.
“She don’t have any sponsor. Other candidates are sponsored by their respective parties but not her. However, she has been doing wonders,” they said.
Among the things done by Nthakomwa according to the constituents include the introduction of one million kwacha women loan, netball and football trophy, empowering the youths in just mentioning a few.
Emily Kayange one of the constituents told this publication that Nthakomwa has been quite on number of insults done by her opponents.
“Many has been attacking her but she has been quite. Not that she don’t have muscle but because she like peace. She is a caring mother,” she said.
Nthakomwa who was on the third position in 2019 elections despite joined the race at eleventh hour is yet to issue a comment on the matter.
Before declaring herself an independent candidate, Nthakomwa was a member of United Transformation Movement (UTM).
Other candidates in the Karonga central by-election race are Frank Mwenifumbo of UTM, Leonard Mwalwanda of Malawi Congress Party (MCP), Nellie Sichali of Mbakuwaku Movement and Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Earnest Mwalughali.
